I build Upstream.

I’m the co-founder of Upstream, where we help creators and media teams turn their content into live channels. Dom and I built the company without outside investment, and we’re taking it into the next stage.

My focus is the business and product side: what creators need, what they’ll pay for, and how we turn that into software they keep using. Dom leads the infrastructure that makes it work.

A video library is an asset.

Creators put serious work into their videos. I think too much of that work gets treated as disposable once the next upload is out.

Upstream helps them build TV and radio-style channels on YouTube using content they already own. We’ve since added Live Studio and multistreaming, bringing more of the broadcast into one place.

Our platform serves teams at Disney, NBCUniversal, Pinkfong, and Eurovision, and is listed among YouTube Live’s verified encoders.

Small team. Serious business.

We run Upstream with five core team members. Automation is a big part of how we serve customers with demanding broadcasting needs while keeping the team small.

I’m interested in what AI lets a small team build, how creators make money, and where YouTube is going. I write about those things here, with the perspective of someone running a product in the middle of it.
